Margery is an artist working from her home studio in Austin, Texas.  Having grown up in a family of artists she has always been open to creativity in many fields.  She studied piano and graduated with a degree in music from the University of Houston.  Over the years, making art with fabric drew her attention and became an exciting obsession.  Having studied with many national artists in this field she realized her ultimate focus of pictorial work drawing from nature and her experiences, with her favoite subjects being people, animals, and landscapes.  Her techniques include painting, applique, embellishment, and machine thread painting.

She often calls herself a "competitive art quilter" having been juried into numerous international and local festivals, shows, and exhibits with a number of Best in Show, Viewers' Choice, and First Place Awards in the Art categories. A sampling of her accomplishments are listed below.
